We are seeking a highly motivated Indirect Tax Specialist (Associate level) to join the Group Tax team within a fast-paced, expanding, and international ecommerce company.

In this role, you will be responsible for managing indirect tax compliance, supporting key projects, and providing tax-related assistance across the wider business.

The position is based in Madrid office as part of the Spanish finance team, with a reporting line to the Senior Manager, Indirect Tax, who is based in Dublin, Ireland.

This is an excellent opportunity for a newly or recently qualified tax professional looking to transition into industry, or for someone already working in industry who is seeking to join a larger, dynamic, and fast-growing organization. The role offers significant global exposure, as you will work across multiple countries, gaining valuable international experience and insight into cross-border operations.

Responsabilities

- Preparation of indirect tax computations/returns and review of indirect tax returns prepared by external advisors for a number of entities of the group; communicate issues within the return, assist Senior Tax Manager in resolution of those issues, and finalise returns for submission to the tax authorities.
- Ensure continuity with US sales tax compliance obligations across all registrations in US by reviewing all correspondence issued by state tax authorities, preparing responses for Senior Tax Manager review, calling out any issues arising, and assisting them with the resolution of those issues.
- Assist the Senior Tax Manager with the resolution of tax audits or voluntary disclosures including collating and coordinating data, quantifying the incremental costs of tax reassessments, and drafting communications to the tax authorities.
- Ensure data in support of tax returns is maintained in an orderly fashion and ready for inspection in the future.
- Support other business areas to ensure tax queries are dealt with in a timely manner.
- Assist the Tax Director/a with the administration of the Tax Function.

Requisitos

Requirements
12 years of prior tax experience within an in-house tax team (preferred but not required) or in a consultancy environment.
Degree in Accounting or Business (required) and a Post-Graduate (preferable but not required).
Qualified Chartered Accountant (ACA or similar) and Chartered Tax Advisor (or similar).
Proactive and able to take ownership of work to manage and deliver workstreams.
Able to work autonomously and to prioritize workload effectively.
Demonstrates a keen interest in business and an inquisitive mind.
Keen to develop new capabilities, resourceful, able to deliver at a high level under pressure.
Strong communication and presentation skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
